Less than three days after officially becoming Richmond players, the Club’s newest draftees were on a plane to Townsville to get to know their new team-mates and coaches.
The new Tigers – Corey Ellis, Connor Menadue, Nathan Drummond, Daniel Butler and Reece McKenzie - joined the travelling party for pre-season camp on Sunday morning.

A day earlier, they got acquainted with the ME Bank Centre, touring the facilities and meeting key staff.
On Monday, they were taking part in their first training session.
“The new draftees are just trying to settle in as quickly as possible, and get used to the team dynamic, before the season starts,” said Richmond defender Dylan Grimes from Tony Ireland Stadium in Townsville.
“We’ve got a lot of young guys here with us at the moment, so quite a lot of it has been about team building.”
Richmond’s pre-season camp will combine team bonding with some solid training in hot and humid North Queensland conditions.
“The guys are really excited to get the camp underway,” Grimes said.
“We know it’s going to pretty tough. We don’t know what’s in store, but all we know so far is there’s going to be blood, sweat and tears.
“There are some great physical gains to be made in conditions like this.
“It’s acclimatisation for us, and getting used to the heat. It’s a long pre-season, and there’s plenty more of this to come.”
