I had an absolute shocker this week in AFL Fantasy, dropping 16,000 ranking points. It’s a good thing I have my Superboot to console me (see below)!

Sam Mitchell’s early exit from Hawthorn’s clash with St Kilda would have hurt a lot of Fantasy coaches, giving us all seven points.

In the same game, Saints skipper Nick Riewoldt was very quiet, which is rare for him, with only 39 points.

My best performer for the week was Brisbane’s Tom Rockliff, who managed to collect 141 points, despite a few first-quarter vomits due to a migraine he was suffering. Richo’s Racers appreciate your efforts Tom!

Looking at my team now, I am a bit worried with all of these blue dots, which means that player has a bye this week. My new strategy for the bye – grit your teeth and bear it.

Unfortunately, my forward planning has been shocking, and although I’ve tried to rectify it over the past few weeks, I’m not going to get a good result. So, I think I will just write these three rounds off! Anyone else in the same boat as me?

Stephen L is still riding high at the top of the Richmond fan league, but last week’s second place-getter, Brad D, has dropped a massive seven places to be ranked ninth! What happened Brad? Karl N and “YesYesYes” are the new kids on the block in the top two. Good luck fighting it out in Round 8, fellas.

Superboot

Much like the Tigers late in the second quarter on Sunday, I have had a complete turnaround in my Superboot fortunes!

After slipping to a very average 125th in the rankings last week, and thinking all was lost, I have jumped a massive 115 places to sit in 10th place! This has the makings of one of the great comebacks of all time.

I will say that I did chicken out of my strategy of picking ‘smokies’ . . . At the 11th hour, I changed my pick to Port Adelaide spearhead Jay Schulz, and decided to play my final Superboot card (meaning I get double points).

Schulz proved once again that he is one of the most dangerous power forwards in the game, but more importantly, he booted six goals against GWS, giving me a total of 12 for the week.

I would have to be leading the charge for the May prizes, but good news for you guys is that I’m not allowed to claim them! Very lucky for you in my current form (can you tell I’ve got my confidence back? Stay tuned for next week when I dip again).

Good luck for Round 8!
