Richmond has made two changes for Saturday’s match against St Kilda at Etihad Stadium.

Former captain and valued veteran Chris Newman returns after missing last Friday night’s clash with Sydney due to a groin injury, while talented tall forward Ty Vickery is back following a two-match suspension handed down by the AFL’s Match Review Panel.

They replace forward Aaron Edwards, who has been sidelined with a groin injury and ruckman/forward Shaun Hampson, who has been omitted.

“Ty, in the game against North Melbourne, where he got suspended (Round 12), showed a bit of form and took a few marks inside 50,” said Richmond assistant coach Danny Daly.

“It’s also good to have the ‘old man’ back in the side – ‘Newy’ – to give us a bit of run and flexibility, and being the contested-ball player that he is.”

This will be the 242nd league game for the 32-year-old Newman, while Vickery, 24, lines up for his 84th game.

The Tigers’ dynamic young midfielder, Dustin Martin, reaches the 100-game milestone, against the Saints on Saturday.

Richmond’s three emergencies for Saturday’s game are Sam Lloyd, Matthew Arnot and Brett O’Hanlon.
