Richmond tall forward Ty Vickery and midfielder Matt Thomas have both been offered stints on the sidelines by the AFL’s Match Review Panel.

Vickery was charged with striking and has been offered a two-match suspension with an early guilty plea, while Thomas has been offered a one-match ban for rough conduct.

Vickery’s charge stemmed from an incident with North Melbourne defender Michael Firrito, during the first quarter of Sunday’s Round 12 match at Etihad Stadium.

The incident was assessed as intentional conduct (three points), medium impact (two points) and high contact (two points).

This is a total of seven activation points, resulting in a classification of a level four offence, drawing 325 demerit points and a three-match sanction. He has no existing good or bad record. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 243.75 demerit points and a two-match sanction.

Thomas was charged with a level one engaging in rough conduct offence (125 points, one-match sanction) for engaging in rough conduct against the Kangaroos’ Brent Harvey, during the third quarter.

Due to his previous poor record, his one-match sanction must remain at one match, even with an early plea.

The incident was assessed as negligent conduct (one point), low impact (one point) and high contact (two points). This is a total of four activation points, resulting in a classification of a level one offence, drawing 125 demerit points and a one-match sanction.

He has an existing bad record of 93.75 demerit points carried over within the last 12 months, increasing the penalty to 218.75 points and a two-match suspension. An early plea reduces the sanction by 25 per cent to 164.06 demerit points and a one-match sanction.
