Richmond’s fifth victory in-a-row, which it achieved over Greater Western Sydney at the MCG last Saturday, is the most consecutive wins the Tigers have recorded since 2000.

In that 2000 season, Richmond strung together successive successes from Round 8-12, against Geelong, West Coast, Collingwood, Hawthorn and Brisbane), and ultimately finished ninth with an 11-11 record.

This time around, the five wins on-the-trot have come against St Kilda (Round 15), Brisbane (Round 16), Port Adelaide (Round 17), West Coast (Round 18) and GWS (Round 19).

You have to go back to 1995 for the last time the Tigers managed more than five wins in-a-row.

They won the opening seven games of the ’95 season and went on to play in the preliminary final that year.

Richmond’s all-time best winning streak is 12, from Round 11, 1932 to Round 2, 1933.

But the Tigers’ most wins on-the-trot in the one season is 11, which they accomplished during their 1980 premiership year, from Round 4 to Round 14.
