Hard-running Richmond midfielder Shaun Grigg prides himself on consistency.
Grigg has missed just one match in three seasons with the Tigers, since crossing over from Carlton, and he’s become an integral part of the team’s midfield, going about his business in an understated, but efficient manner.
It’s not surprising, then, that Grigg’s main aims for the upcoming 2014 season revolve around reliability . . .

“I just want to be a consistent performer again, both inside and outside, just wherever the coach sees fit,” Grigg said on this week’s episode of the Club’s official podcast, “Talking Tigers”.
The 25-year-old veteran of 109 league games, has predominantly been used on a wing (and to good effect) during his time so far at Tigerland, but he could find himself in a different role at stages throughout 2014.
“Maybe I could give the boys a chop-out as a half-forward, and try and kick some ‘snags’ (goals),” he said.
Grigg had minor shoulder surgery at the end of the 2013 season, but that hasn’t prevented him from putting in another solid pre-season.
“It’s been a lot of running again . . . all the boys are pretty fit,” he said.
“We just want to consistently improve and consistently go for the four quarters. We had lapses four 10-15 minutes in a game (in 2013), and it really hurt us.
“So, if we can just minimise the momentum of other teams, it’s going to go a long way to us winning more games.”
