Jake King may be just over a month away from turning 30, but he’s pushing for a new on-field role in the twilight of his AFL career with Richmond.
Having provided the Tiger team with considerable value during the past few years, as an aggressive small forward with a strong defensive mindset, King is now looking to provide some grunt in the midfield.

“We’ve got a lot of young boys coming through, who are pretty much putting their hands up, and then you’ve got a few of the older boys, like Chris Newman, stepping in to the forward line,” King told ‘Roar Vision’.
“I think I’ll be up there, but I’m going to try and get in the middle a little bit more this year.
“So, I have worked on the fitness a fair bit. I’ve got that up . . . it’s probably the best it’s been in a long time.
“Hopefully, I can pinch-hit in the middle a little bit more and help the boys out there.”
