This week Richmond and its preferred charity partner, The Alannah and Madeline Foundation are urging all Australians to Stand up for our Kids and take the pledge to keep our children safe from violence.
The Club is dedicating its Round 16 match against the Brisbane Lions on Saturday, July 5 at the MCG to raise awareness and funds for the Foundation through the campaign.
Richmond CEO, Brendon Gale said the Club is proud to support its charity partner to raise awareness of such an important issue in the community.
“It’s tragic to see family violence occur, and as a Club, we’ll do whatever we can to support The Alannah and Madeline Foundation and show that the Richmond Football Club stands up for our kids,” Gale said.
Dr Judith Slocombe, The Alannah and Madeline Foundation CEO said it’s the vision of the Foundation that every child lives in a safe and supportive environment.
“Children are often the forgotten victims of family violence, but the reality is that this serious issue has a profound impact on children right across Australia,” she said.
“Almost one million Australian children have lived with violence in the home. The Stand up for our Kids campaign highlights this issue and reminds Australians that we all have a responsibility to protect our children and keep them safe.”
