There will be a crackdown on anti-social behaviour at tomorrow’s clash between Richmond and Fremantle at the MCG, with MCC officials urging patrons to report racial abuse and other unseemly conduct through the text-message complaints system.

A Collingwood fan was stripped of his membership by the Magpies following a racial-abuse incident involving Gold Coast player Joel Wilkinson at the MCG last Sunday and the MCC, along with Richmond, is keen to avoid any further trouble.

“We have a loyal, passionate supporter base and it is one of this Club’s greatest strengths,” said Richmond’s CEO Brendon Gale.

“We never want to lose that, but it is equally important that our games are occasions where all people can enjoy the day.

“The use of foul language, and other socially unacceptable behaviour, is contrary to creating the environment, and we urge all our fans to be mindful of those around them at the game each.”
