Richmond coach Damien Hardwick has put into perspective the notion that the Tigers have had a dream injury run this season, which has been a significant factor in their capacity to rack up wins.
“At the moment, we’ve got a reasonably healthy list. Ben Griffiths is probably the guy that we’d like to be playing that’s not available,” Hardwick said.

“But at various stages we’ve been without Brett Deledio and Shane Edwards. So, it’s been a real credit to our players that they’ve dug deep and hung tough because, the fact of the matter is, we probably haven’t had half of our forward line playing for the majority of the year.
“It’s no coincidence, we get most of them back, we start to kick some goals (45 in the past two games).
“We’re pleased, but it’s not to say there’s not an injury around the corner.
“The great thing is we’ve got some players who are playing well enough at VFL level that we feel can put their hand up to contribute – (Dave) Astbury, (Matt) Dea, (Liam) McBean – these type of players.
“If we do get an injury, we feel we’re pretty well covered.”
