Richmond’s hunt for 90,000 members in 2018 has been given a boost, with the Club breaking its membership record today.
Ticking over to 75,803 members this morning, the Tigers surged past its previous record of 75,777 achieved at the end of Richmond’s 2017 finals campaign, making it the eighth consecutive year the Club has achieved record membership.
Richmond CEO, Brendon Gale said it was exciting to achieve the record early in the year.
“The power and passion of the Tiger Army is something special, and it’s really exciting to have record-breaking members with us as we head into the start of a new season.”
A crowd of 90,000-plus is expected at Richmond’s Round 1 season-opener against Carlton, and the Club advises fans to join or renew as members before February 28, to provide the best opportunity of ensuring entry to the match.
“We have been advising our fans that the best way to ensure they don’t miss out on the game is to become a member. Members will get priority access when tickets go on sale,” Gale said.
Richmond will also unfurl the premiership flag before the start of its Round 1 blockbuster.
In addition to the traditional Round 1 season-opener, season 2018 will also feature the marquee ANZAC Day Eve and Dreamtime at the ‘G matches, as well as blockbuster games against Collingwood, Geelong and Hawthorn.
