Richmond, having cemented a long-awaited finals berth, courtesy of last Saturday’s 23-point win against Brisbane at the MCG, will look within, in a determined effort to take the next step at the business end of the season.
The Tigers will play finals for the first time since 2001 and, according to valuable small defender, Steven Morris, they now need to turn the spotlight on themselves.
“I think our main focus has to be on us and the style of footy we play. The rest will take care of itself,” Morris told ‘Roar Vision’ in an interview following the victory over the Lions.

“We’re looking forward to the challenge over the next few weeks and into the finals.
“If we can focus on us, and the style of footy that we want to play, and play that way, it’s going to hold us in good stead to go on as far as we can into the season.”
Morris, who continued his strong 2013 form, to again be one of Richmond’s best last Saturday, with a season-high 16 disposals, including five intercept possessions, five marks and a goal, regards the Round 20 result against Brisbane as a good example of the improvement the Tigers have made this year.
“We always talk about setting our standards high, and if we don’t quite achieve them, we’re still right up there,” he said.
“Today was a perfect example of that.
“We didn’t play anywhere near our best footy in the second half, but we were able to still get the result that we were after . . .
“I felt we were fantastic in the first half (11.7 to 4.4), and we know why we were really good.
“They obviously changed their tack in the second half and played some pretty good footy themselves.
“We’ll review why they got back into the game.
“We probably had to play a bit smarter with our ball use going inside 50, but it was good to get a win.”
