Star key forward Jack Riewoldt moved into 26th place on the AFL’s all-time goalkicking list with his three-goal haul in Richmond’s opening round win against Carlton at the MCG.
That took Riewoldt’s overall goals tally to 634 from his 263 games of league football, overtaking Melbourne’s David Neitz (631 goals) and Fitzroy/Brisbane’s Alastair Lynch (633 goals).
He is now just 28 goals behind 25th-placed Jack Moriarty (Essendon/Fitzroy, 662).
From a Richmond historical goalkicking perspective, Riewoldt has only three sharpshooters ahead of him – Kevin Bartlett, 778, Matthew Richardson, 800, and Jack Titus, 970.
