Richmond has regained the services of inspirational No. 1 ruckman Ivan Maric for Saturday night’s ‘Dreamtime at the ‘G’ Blockbuster against Essendon.

It will be Maric’s first appearance at AFL level for the season, after recovering from ankle surgery, which he underwent early in the year.

Maric was a standout in his second game back from injury with Richmond’s VFL side last Saturday, against Werribee, finishing with 19 disposals, including seven clearances, seven inside-50s, two goals, plus 41 hit-outs.

“Ivvy was fantastic,” said the Tigers’ VFL coach Tim Clarke in his weekly report for richmondfc.com.au.

“If you watch the last quarter and a half of footy, he really showed that he’s a level above VFL.

“I think he’s really ready for senior footy . . .”

Maric replaces Ty Vickery, who has been omitted from the Tigers’ team that beat Greater Western Sydney by 113 points last Saturday.

The three emergencies for Richmond’s Round 11 team are Jake Batchelor, Ricky Petterd and Anthony Miles.
