Richmond VFL ramped up its pre-season over the weekend with its annual camp, the reigning premier leaving no stone unturned in its 2020 preparations.

Following a successful camp last year at Safety Beach, Richmond stuck to the same destination for the second year in a row.

Throughout the weekend, the group participated in a number of activities built around teamwork and connection, while also undergoing a tough training session at Seaford football ground.

With Richmond’s VFL list to be finalised next month, the players were eager for the opportunity to prove themselves on the training track.

Setting the tone for the year ahead, the camp forms an important component of the pre-season, giving the group an opportunity to have some fun while growing their relationships in a different environment.

There were plenty of fresh faces on the camp, with 19 of the 38 players in attendance new to the program, including exciting recruits Aidyn Johnson, Nathan Cooper and Cody Henness.

The VFL Tigers will open their 2020 campaign against Sandringham at Marvel Stadium on Sunday, April 5 in a curtain raiser to Richmond and St Kilda's annual 'Maddie's Match' clash.
