Richmond premiership star key forward and vice-captain, Jack Riewoldt, will be inducted into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame at a gala event in June this year.

Riewoldt will join his father, decorated Clarence ruckman and Tasmanian representative player, Chris Riewoldt, in the Hall of Fame.

Jack Riewoldt, a Richmond Life Member, has played 231 games for the Tigers since being drafted from Clarence with the Club’s first pick (No. 13 overall) in the 2006 AFL National Draft.

Last year, Riewoldt played a major role in the Tigers’ drought-breaking premiership triumph.

He also is a Jack Dyer Medallist, dual Coleman Medallist (2010, 2012), and two-time All-Australian (2010, 2015).

He sits in fifth place overall on Richmond’s all-time leading goalkicker list, with 551 goals, and has been the Tigers’ leading goalkicker for the past eight seasons.

At the start of 2017, he was named one of Richmond’s vice-captains, along with star key defender Alex Rance.

“I think I can speak on behalf of the Club, when I say that we’re very proud of Jack to be inducted into the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame,” said Richmond CEO Brendon Gale.

“Jack’s a proud Tiger and proud Tasmanian, and it’s wonderful that his name will be added to the inductees.”

“We’re very lucky to have Jack at Richmond. The Club, and our fans, love the player and person that he is.”

Riewoldt made his senior debut for Clarence in 2005, aged 16.

By season’s end, he was regarded as a future star, thanks to a superb finals series, culminating with four goals in Clarence’s grand final loss.

He continued the trend the following year, producing standout performances at the under-18 national championships, playing senior VFL games for the Tasmanian Devils and winning a premiership medal at senior level with Clarence.

Riewoldt joins a talented Tassie Tiger troop, such as Richmond greats Royce Hart, Ian Stewart, Michael Roach, Matthew Richardson and Brendon Gale, in the Tasmanian Football Hall of Fame.
