Recently retired Tiger Daniel Jackson is set to increase his involvement with the Tigers’ preferred charity partner, The Alannah and Madeline Foundation.
Jackson has been announced as an official ambassador for The Foundation, lending his voice to the national charity which aims to keep children safe from violence and bullying.
Richmond has forged a strong partnership with The Foundation, and raised $80,000 in 2014 to help support its programs, including the Better Buddies Framework.
Current Richmond players Jack Riewoldt, Steve Morris and Dylan Grimes are ‘champions’ of The Foundation.
During his football career, Jackson was an active supporter of The Foundation, including performing at Starry Starry Night and promoting its programs through the media.
“The sole reason I was able to survive 11 years as an AFL footballer with all the stresses, pressures and anxieties that come with it, was 100 per cent due to the people that helped me along the journey,” Jackson said.
“I believe every young person should be given the help, care and environment they need to not only be successful in their own lives, but more importantly to be safe and happy.
“The Alannah and Madeline Foundation provides exactly this, and that is why I support the organisation and the fantastic work they do.
“I look forward to taking my responsibilities as a Foundation ambassador as an opportunity to continue to be a spokesperson and advocate for young people and hopefully helping make a little bit of difference.”
