A career-high 21 disposals and six goals earned talented Tiger tall forward Ty Vickery the most votes in the AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year award for the Round 21 Richmond v Collingwood match.
Vickery, who also took 10 marks and had a game-high 10 score involvements in the Tigers’ 91-point win, received nine votes from respective coaches Damien Hardwick (Richmond) and Nathan Buckley (Collingwood).
Dynamic Richmond midfielder Dustin Martin was the next highest vote-getter, collecting six for a performance that netted him a team-high 32 disposals, including four inside-50s, plus 11 marks.
Star Tiger key defender Alex Rance picked up five votes for another superb display – 22 disposals, an equal game-high 13 marks and six intercept possessions.
Rising Richmond star Brandon Ellis polled four votes after finishing with 31 disposals, including five inside-50s, five intercept possessions, plus 10 marks and five tackles.
Three other Tigers featured in the Round 21 votes – inspirational ruckman Ivan Maric (three), along with running defenders Taylor Hunt (two) and Bachar Houli (one).
