Richmond captain Trent Cotchin and rebounding defender Jayden Short were injured in Saturday's disappointing 49-point loss to GWS.
Cotchin hurt his hamstring in the third term, while Short landed heavily in the opening minutes of the first quarter, his elbow bending at an awkward angle.
The Tigers are already without premiership players Alex Rance (knee reconstruction), Jack Riewoldt (wrist) and Bachar Houli (hamstring) due to injury leading into next Saturday's clash with Port Adelaide in Adelaide.
Richmond coach Damien Hardwick said post-match he isn't sure how long Cotchin and Short would be missing for.
"It's disappointing but we move on, and look for someone to replace them," he said.
"That’s what presents itself these times of player loss, it gives two more players an opportunity to step up and play some games for the Richmond footy club."
Dustin Martin could also be looked at by the Match Review Officer after a free kick from an off-the-ball incident against GWS, but Hardwick wants more protection for his superstar.
"Why do you reckon he might give away that free kick?" he said.
"At the end of the day people come to watch the number four play, let the bloke play the game and protect the ball carrier is what I'm saying."
