Congratulations to the Yarram Yarram Landcare Network, the recipients of the 2013 Richmond Football Club Landcare Grant, who were awarded $5,000 for their project to achieve positive outcomes for sustainable landscapes, healthy waterways and connected communities.

This week, 10 students from Yarram Secondary College, along with their teachers, were presented with a cheque for $5,000 by Richmond CEO Brendon Gale and Richmond midfielder, Nathan Foley at the ME Bank Centre.

The grant will support the Yarram/Allies and District Junior Sporting Club’s ‘Roaring for the Environment’ project, which engages nine different schools and Landcare groups and will link wildlife corridors by restoring habitat, using local indigenous vegetation at Yarram Secondary College.

The program aims to engage children in a local Landcare project, provide fun environmental and physical education opportunities for local children, and develop community partnerships between the Yarram Allies District Junior Sporting Club, Yarram Yarram Landcare Network and Richmond Football Club.
