Rebounding Richmond defender Bachar Houli polled the most votes by a Tiger player in the AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year award for Round 5.
Houli received six votes following his impressive all-round performance across the backline in Richmond’s nine-point loss to Geelong at the MCG.

He finished with 33 disposals, including a game-high eight rebound-50s, had a game-high nine tackles, took seven marks, and showed admirable boldness through his run-and-carry.
Richmond’s only other vote-getter against the Cats was young gun Brandon Ellis, who also picked up 33 disposals in a trademark hard-running display.
