Former Richmond midfielder Daniel Jackson is aiming to raise $10,000 for The Alannah and Madeline Foundation, as he attempts to complete a marathon later this month.

Jackson is an ambassador for The Foundation, Richmond’s preferred charity partner.

The 2013 Jack Dyer Medallist will compete in the 42km Niagara Falls Marathon on Sunday, October 25, which trails across both sides of the Canadian-United States border.

“I’m confident and excited to be able to help the Foundation, which does fantastic work in delivering programs focused on care, prevention and advocacy,” Jackson said.

“The dedication and passion of the Foundation in protecting children from violence and bullying is unrivalled and inspires me to take on challenges like the marathon.

“My goal is to raise $10,000, which will go to a range of programs including eSmart, Better Buddies, Buddy Bags and Children Ahead.”
