Richmond captain Trent Cotchin has declared that the Tigers will rise strongly from the ashes of their disappointing 2018 preliminary final loss to Collingwood to again be a serious premiership contender next season.

“We’ll live, we’ll learn, we’ll come back bigger and better next year,” Cotchin told Channel Seven.

“Whilst it’s hard to swallow, the pill of losing a prelim and watching another team go in to challenge for a dream, we also celebrate the journey.

“It’s been an amazing year for the footy club, both on and off-field. Didn’t quite end the way we wanted it to, but we keep talking about it . . . we’re a strong and bold club and we’re really proud of what we’re creating and continuing to build here.

“We’ve got some really exciting youth coming through, and we’ve got mountains of growth within the team currently.”
