Richmond captain Trent Cotchin scored a perfect 10 in the AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year voting for the Round 3 match against Brisbane at the Gabba last Saturday night.

Cotchin received the maximum 10 votes from respective coaches Damien Hardwick (Richmond) and Justin Leppitsch (Brisbane) for an inspirational performance that netted him a game-high 37 disposals, including 18 contested possessions, seven clearances, seven inside-50s, 10 intercept possessions, and 12 score involvements in the Tigers’ 79-point win.

Hard-running Tiger defender Bachar Houli picked up eight votes for a first-rate rebounding display, which saw him finish with 32 disposals, including 14 contested possessions, 11 intercept possessions and nine rebound-50s.

Talented forward/midfielder Shane Edwards celebrated his return to the Richmond side, following a week’s absence due to injury, collecting six votes for a trademark creative 26-disposal effort, including 12 contested possessions and 10 score involvements.

The other Richmond player to poll votes in Round 3 was Dustin Martin, who was given two after finishing with 29 disposals, including 11 contested possessions, five inside-50s and two goals.
