‘Ball-magnet’ midfielder Anthony Miles has grasped the lifeline thrown to him by Richmond, following his delisting at Greater Western Sydney with all the surety of one of his centre-bounce or stoppage clearances.
Miles is averaging 24.2 disposals per game in his 30 senior appearances for the Tigers since midway through last season and he’s provided the team’s midfield with a major boost.
This year, he is ranked 15th in the competition for contested possessions and 17th for clearances.
“You still pinch yourself, particularly being at Richmond, playing in front of 60-70,000 most weekends,” Miles said on SEN.
“We’ve got eight Friday night games, playing at the MCG . . . it’s an unbelievable experience.
“For me, I don’t think I’ll ever feel comfortable at AFL level, like I belong, and that’s probably a good thing for me.
“I’m just loving my time at Richmond at the moment, and it’s a really exciting place to be around.”
