Coburg’s trip to Shepparton ended in a disappointing 76-point loss to Bendigo yesterday.

The Tigers, playing their first of two home games in regional Victoria in 2012, suffered their sixth loss of the season.

A strong first half by the Bombers set up a 33-point half time lead, and the Tigers couldn’t recover.

Richmond’s Matt White was impressive in the loss, collecting 30 disposals, while Luke McGuane, Angus Graham and young forward Todd Elton each booted two goals.

Graham and ruck partner Andrew Browne dominated the hitouts, with Brad Miller (10 marks, 15 possessions) and Dan Connors (18 disposals) also showing encouraging signs.

Key position youngster David Astbury continued his return to football after a long injury layoff, taking six marks and picking up 11 disposals in limited game time.

In the Development League, Kel Moore made his long-awaited return to competitive football, playing half a game and getting through unscathed.

Coburg faces ladder-leader Port Melbourne at North Port Oval this Saturday, June 16, at 1.10pm.
