- He was born on December 19, 1990.
- He grew up in the outer eastern Perth suburb of Midvale.
- He lived in the same street, just six houses apart, from West Coast’s star ruckman Nic Natanui, and Fremantle’s Michael Walters also was one of his neighbours.
- He played alongside Natanui and Walters at the Midvale Junior Football Club.
- He captained a team from the Clontarf Football Academy in a game against a visiting South African under 19s side in early 2007.
- He kicked seven goals in his senior debut with WAFL club Swan Districts in 2008, and finished with 39 goals in 13 games that season.
- He also represented WA at the under-18 national championships in that 2008 season.
- He featured in the award-winning documentary film “Three Boys Dreaming”, which followed the lives of three young Indigenous footballers over a four-year period.
- He was drafted by Carlton at pick six overall in the 2008 AFL National Draft, with his childhood friends Natanui and Walters also being selected in that draft.
- He made his senior league debut with the Blues in Round 7, 2009 v Fremantle at Carrara.
- The most goals he has kicked in an AFL season is 26 in 2013, and the most in a match is four.
- The most disposals he’s picked up in a match is 27 against North Melbourne in Round 19, 2011 at Etihad Stadium.
- He won Goal of the Year in 2012 for his brilliant Round 1, running goal against Richmond.
