Those people, who are old enough, vividly recall what they were doing the day man landed on the moon.
In decades to come, members of the Yellow and Black faith will look back with a similar sense of historic importance, to what they were doing the day ‘Talking Tigers’ first went live to air.
That momentous event occurred today – March 24, 2015 – as the clock struck midday (AEST).
Just as the world had been transfixed, when astronaut Neil Armstrong’s foot first touched the moon’s surface, on that late July day in 1969, and he uttered those now famous words, ‘It’s one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind’, the legion of Talking Tigers listeners were enthralled with the podcast juggernaut’s breathtaking debut live performance.
Swept up in the exhilarating emotion of the occasion, the fans phoned, tweeted, emailed, snap-chatted, instagrammed, and did whatever else they could to connect live with the TT team.
In an episode of groundbreaking significance, Talking Tigers paid special tribute to Richmond’s 1967 premiership hero ‘Bull’ Richardson, who passed away last week, had a comprehensive wrap-up of the pre-season period, introduced some new segments, smoothly settled into some old ones, and interviewed the Club’s General Manager of Football Dan Richardson.
It was brilliant stuff – and a fascinating forerunner to what shapes as an outstanding fourth year of Talking Tigers.
If the Tigers turn you on, turn on to Talking Tigers, live each Tuesday.
