Richmond captain Trent Cotchin has been a standout throughout the Tigers’ pre-season campaign, both from an individual training perspective and a leadership viewpoint.
Experienced defender Troy Chaplin has praised the summertime work of Cotchin, who is entering his third season as Richmond’s captain, and coming off a third Jack Dyer Medal triumph in 2014.

“I think our skipper’s led by example,” Chaplin told SEN.
“He’s improved his fitness in that regard, but he’s demanding a lot of the other guys, and that’s what we asked of him.
“So he’s been fantastic this year . . . he’s had a big pre-season.”
Cotchin, who doesn’t turn 25 until five days after the Tigers’ blockbuster season-opener against Carlton, became the youngest triple winner of the Jack Dyer Medal when he took out the Club’s 2014 Best and Fairest.
