Richmond ruckman Ivan Maric has been offered a one-week suspension from the AFL’s Match Review Panel.
The incident, which occurred against Greater Western Sydney’s Jack Steele during the third quarter of last Saturday’s Round 14 match, was classified as a two-match sanction, which can be reduced to one with an early plea.
If Richmond chooses not to appeal the MRP’s decision, Maric will miss this Friday night’s Round 15 clash with Carlton at the MCG.

Based on the video evidence available and a medical report from GWS, it was the view of the panel the incident should be classified as careless conduct with medium impact to the head.
Meanwhile, Richmond captain Trent Cotchin can accept a $1000 sanction with an early plea, for striking the Giants’ Zac Williams in the first quarter of Saturday’s match.
The incident was classified by the MRP as careless conduct with low impact to the head.
Tigers’ defender Jake Batchelor was also fined, for engaging in a melee during the opening quarter.
