Jack Riewoldt’s on-field deeds in 2010 have been rewarded with a place in Richmond’s leadership group for season 2011.

Riewoldt joins Nathan Foley, Daniel Jackson, Brett Deledio and Trent Cotchin alongside captain Chris Newman.

At 22, he is the second-youngest member of the leadership group (after Cotchin).

Riewoldt has played 68 games for the Tigers after being snared with pick 13 in the 2006 National Draft.

His breakout 2010 season included 78 goals at full forward, a Jack Dyer Medal, Coleman Medal and selection in the AFL’s All Australian team.

He averaged 3.5 goals a game and slotted five bags of at least six goals, including a career-best haul of 10 and three bags of seven.

Riewoldt’s preparation for the upcoming season has been interrupted by minor finger and knee injuries, but he is on track to play in Richmond’s opening round encounter with Carlton on Thursday March 24.
