Having completed a productive 2016 trade period, Richmond’s attention turns to the National Draft, which will be held in Sydney on November 25.
The Tigers hold picks 27, 56, 82 and 100 in the draft, after trading for talented, mature-age midfield recruits Dion Prestia (Gold Coast) and Josh Caddy (Geelong).
They are, however, already extremely well positioned for the 2017 National Draft, courtesy of a future first round pick, as well as a third round pick, they received in the deal that saw veteran star Brett Deledio traded to Greater Western Sydney.
“We’ll reassess this year’s draft now that our first pick doesn’t come in until 27,” said the Tigers’ General Manager – Football Talent, Dan Richardson.
“We’ve certainly stocked up on draft picks for 2017 . . .
“Both drafts look like being strong drafts, so we’re confident we’ll get some good players in.
“More than likely now it comes down to best available, but we’ll need to spend some time working through that in the lead-up to the National Draft at the end of November.”
