Richmond will be striving to maintain its recent excellent interstate record in season 2016.

The Tigers have been the best-performed of all 18 AFL teams on the road over the past three years.

They have scored victories in 13 of their 19 interstate matches, which is a highly-impressive winning strike-rate of 68.4 percent.

Not even Hawthorn, which has won the past three premierships, can boast such success on the road.

The Hawks have won 10 of their 16 interstate fixtures in that time (a 62.5 percent winning strike-rate), which places them third behind Richmond on the list of ‘visiting’ victories.

Second is the Sydney Swans, who have a winning strike-rate of 67.6 percent, with 23 wins from 34 games.

West Coast is fourth with a 54.8 percent winning strike-rate (17 wins from 31 games), just ahead of its local AFL rival Fremantle, which has a 54.5 percent success strike-rate (18 wins from 33 games).

Then follows Geelong and Adelaide (both 50 percent strike-rates), with Port Adelaide (47.1 percent) rounding out the top eight league teams on the road during the past three seasons.

Richmond has six interstate trips this season – against West Coast, Domain Stadium, Round 4, Fremantle, Domain Stadium, Round 9, North Melbourne, Blundstone Arena, Round 11, Port Adelaide, Adelaide Oval, Round 15, GWS, StarTrack Oval (Canberra), Round 19, and Sydney, SCG, Round 23.
