Star Richmond key forward Jack Riewoldt has a burning desire to make improvements in his game throughout the second half of this season for the overall benefit of the Tigers’ team.

Riewoldt’s statistical numbers to the midway mark of the season are more than reasonable.

He’s kicked 27 goals, averages 15.2 disposals and 6.6 marks per match, and features prominently in several key, competition-wide stats’ categories.

The two-time Coleman Medallist and dual All-Australian is ranked equal eighth in the competition for marks inside 50 (with 31), equal 13^th for contested marks (23), equal 13^th for goals (27), equal 19^th for total marks (79), and equal 22^nd for goal assists (11).

Riewoldt, however, isn’t satisfied, and believes he has scope for significant improvement during the remainder of season 2016.

“I think I’ve had a pretty consistent year.  I’ve been playing some okay footy without starring and playing as well as I’d like to.  It’s been to an acceptable standard,” Riewoldt said on Channel Seven.

“The thing for me is to go to the next level and take guys along with me.

“I judge myself harshly because I like to be able to judge the guys that play alongside me in the forward line harshly as well . . .

“You can be happy kicking two goals a week, having 12-13 touches, and being involved in a few other goals.  Or you can take it to the next level and become a really potent forward line, which can really service our football club, and our ‘mids’ and backs as well.”
