The 10 votes polled by star Richmond key forward Jack Riewoldt in last night’s 2018 Brownlow Medal count were the most he’s tallied throughout his 12-season AFL career.
Riewoldt’s previous best Brownlow votes return for a season was seven, which he managed twice – in 2010 and 2014.
He tied with Richmond captain Trent Cotchin for the third most votes by a Tigers player in this year’s Brownlow count.
Dusty continues strong Brownlow climb
Star midfielder Kane Lambert was Richmond’s second highest Brownlow vote-winner for 2018 with 12 votes, which was the most he’s received in his four-year AFL career.
Interestingly, the Tigers’ No. 1 ruckman Toby Nankervis, who lowered his colours to Collingwood’s Brodie Grundy in the preliminary final, was awarded three Brownlow votes for his excellent Round 6 performance against Grundy and the Magpies.
