Richmond’s VFL captain Sam Darley has been rewarded for a superb season, with selection in the league’s Team of the Year.
Darley received the honour, named on the interchange, at the league’s J.J. Liston Trophy Best and Fairest count on Monday night.
The rebounding defender averaged 22 disposals per game and led the VFL for total rebound-50s (average six per game) across 17 matches.
Darley, 23, was quick to make an impact at Tigerland this season and instated as captain in his first year at the Club.
He was also selected to represent the VFL State squad against the SANFL West End State Team in May.
Darley joined Richmond’s VFL side after spending time on Greater Western Sydney and the Western Bulldogs’ lists.
