Talented Tiger teenager Connor Menadue further pressed his claims for senior selection in the season-opener against Carlton on March 24 with an impressive display in last Saturday’s NAB Challenge clash with Hawthorn at Beaconsfield.
The hard-running 19-year-old won his fair share of ball, both overhead and at ground level, broke the lines, and capped his work with two goals, including the first of the match.

After a strong pre-season, Menadue appears ready to build on the five games he played at senior level in his debut season of AFL football with Richmond last year.
“I think knowing the roles and structures, both backline and also the wing . . . and just playing your role helps a lot to find a bit of the ball. And, it helps out your teammates,” Menadue told ‘Roar Vision’ in the rooms following the Tigers’ 72-point NAB Challenge victory over Hawthorn.
“My role (last Saturday) was to play a bit of wing, backline . . . to hold the width and just try and play outside.”
Menadue now has his sights set on retaining his place in Richmond’s line-up for the final NAB Challenge match against Port Adelaide at Etihad Stadium on March 10.
“That’d be nice,” he said.
“Hopefully, I can train well this week and get selected again . . . We’ll see what happens.”
