In a disappointing first half of the season for Richmond, Shaun Grigg’s impressive level of consistency through the midfield has been a clear positive.
Grigg is averaging 26.5 disposals, 11.3 contested possessions and 5.7 clearances in the 10 games he’s played.
He racked up an AFL career-high 38 disposals in last Friday night’s 70-point loss to North Melbourne at Hobart’s Blundstone Arena, including 15 contested possessions, nine clearances, a team-high nine score involvements, six inside-50s, three rebound-50s, along with four tackles, and worked tirelessly throughout attempting to lift the Tigers.
The lowest disposals’ return for Grigg in a match this year has been 22 (v West Coast, Round 4 and v Melbourne, Round 5), which underlines his reliability in the Richmond line-up.
Midway through season 2016, he must surely be featuring prominently in the voting for the prestigious Jack Dyer Medal.
