Dustin Martin’s rising reputation at Tigerland is further enhanced when you consider the following interesting historical statistic...
Since statistics were officially recorded in the league football competition back in 1965, there have been just three Richmond players, with more than 100 games each to their credit, who have averaged 20-plus disposals and one goal-plus per match.

This select Tiger group is Kevin Bartlett, Dale Weightman . . . and Dustin Martin.
Bartlett booted 778 goals in his Club record 403 games and averaged 22.7 disposals per match.
Weightman kicked 344 goals in 274 games and averaged 20.8 disposals.
Martin has scored 141 goals in 131 games and is averaging 23.5 disposals.
The fact that Bartlett and Weightman are two of the greatest, most celebrated Tigers of all time – and that no other Richmond players have managed this terrific triple treat feat over the past half-century – speaks volume for what Martin has achieved so far in six seasons of AFL football.
It remains to be seen how Martin’s league career pans out from here.
But, at just 24 years of age, he clearly seems on track to become a Tiger great.
