Dynamic midfielder Dustin Martin has signed a new contract with Richmond.
Martin, who still had one year remaining on a contract, has committed to a further two seasons at the Club, ensuring he will remain a Tiger until at least the end of 2017.
“The discussions between the Club and Dustin's management were regular and amicable all the way through, and Dustin was always committed to continuing his career at Richmond,” said Richmond’s General Manager of Football, Dan Richardson.

“It’s obviously great news, as Dustin is such a pivotal player in our plans for the future.
“Dustin’s development, both on and off the field, has been extremely impressive, and it’s exciting to think that at just 23, he still has scope for significant further improvement.
“Following a strong pre-season, we look forward to seeing him take another key step in his league career in 2015.”
Martin, who was taken by Richmond with its first pick (No. 3 overall) in the 2009 AFL National Draft, has played 108 games and kicked 117 goals since making his senior debut in 2010.

From the outset, he has thrilled the Tiger Army with his explosive style of play, and posed huge problems for opposition teams.
Three times in five seasons, Martin has finished top three in Richmond’s Best and Fairest, including a third-placed finish last year.
Martin averaged a career-high 25.4 disposals per match for season 2014, was ranked second in the competition for total kicks, 12th for uncontested possessions, kicked 27 goals, was named in the initial All-Australian 40-player squad, and polled 13 votes in the Brownlow Medal.
Early in the season, when the team was struggling, Martin’s imposing form in the midfield had been a rare shining light for Richmond.
He subsequently played a major role in the Tigers’ barnstorming run to the finals through his sublime skills in crucial one-on-one contests deep forward.
