Richmond tall Ben Griffiths is excited about the Club’s young forward talent and says Daniel Rioli and Shai Bolton have impressed in pre-season training.
Griffiths, 25, was full of praise for second-year youngster Rioli, who played 18 games and booted 13 goals in his debut AFL season.
“Dan Rioli, his pre-season so far has been nothing short of outstanding,” Griffiths told SEN on Friday morning.
“Our forward line is so young now, he’s really taken it upon himself to set the standard and the expectations leading into the year and some of the stuff that he’s shown so far has been really exciting.”
Rioli has formed a strong friendship with new Tiger Shai Bolton, who was recruited to Richmond with pick No. 29 in the 2016 National Draft.
Griffiths said the former South Fremantle small forward had been quick to make an impression at the Club.
“Shai Bolton coming in as well, to be able to learn off Daniel, who is really mature for a second-year player, it’s going to be priceless and he’s already showed some of his tricks,” he said.
“His speed and pop is probably the best at the club already.”
