Key Richmond midfielder Shaun Grigg rates star Tiger key defender Alex Rance as highly as his brilliant former Carlton teammate Chris Judd.
Grigg, who played 43 senior games in four seasons with the Blues from 2007-10, made the glowing comparison on this week’s episode of the Club’s official podcast ‘Talking Tigers’, where he’s now a regular contributor.
Be there this Sunday afternoon when we host the Blues at the MCG
“He’s an absolute freak,” Grigg said.
“I was interviewed a couple of weeks ago about some of the players I’ve played with, and he’s right up there with the best I’ve ever played with . . . (Chris) Judd and (Brendon) Fevola in his prime, Dusty (Dustin Martin), ‘Cotch’ (Trent Cotchin), those guys.
“I would hate to play on him if I was a key forward.
“He’s just an absolute beast, he reads the game so well, and he’s heart and soul.”
