Richmond’s VFL team enters the 2017 season full of confidence following a successful practice-match program, with three wins from four games.
The Tigers defeated reigning VFL premier Footscray, Northern Blues and Collingwood in successive weeks, before being beaten by Essendon last weekend.
VFL season launched with guernsey presentation
They now host North Ballarat at Punt Road this Sunday, in the opening round of the VFL season.
“The body of work is really strong,” Richmond VFL coach Craig McRae told ‘Roar Vision’.
“Whether it’s the wins, or losses it’s just the way we’ve gone about it . . .
“We’re in good shape.”
McRae revealed what the main focus of the VFL team had been throughout the preparations for the 2017 season.
“We’ve focused all pre-season on developing a winning culture – something the VFL (team) hasn’t had in its time, and something we’re working towards,” McRae said.
“Late last year, we won our last six games in-a-row, which started to show that we’re capable of that.
“But starting to do that week in, week out, from the start of the season, is something we’re focused on.”
