Richmond will take a measured approach to last Friday night’s one-point loss to Collingwood at the MCG, according to the Tigers’ star key forward Jack Riewoldt.
As disappointing as that result was, given the team had worked its way to a game-high, and seemingly winning, 17-point lead deep into the last quarter, Riewoldt was adamant it would be business as usual at Punt Road in the lead-up to the Round 3 clash with Adelaide at Etihad Stadium on Saturday.
“For us, we don’t ride the wins, or losses, out to a point where it’s going to affect us during the week,” Riewoldt told 3AW.
“So, yes we’ll review it, yes it hurts, it’s disappointing – we should have won – but unfortunately we didn’t get the prized four points . . .
“We missed goals that we should kick and we probably made a few silly, fundamental errors in that last five minutes, when we could have really iced the game . . . More mental mistakes than other things.
“So, it’s a learning curve for our guys, but it’s getting to the stage now where, unfortunately, the learning curves are costing us points. We need to rectify that . . .
“But we won’t ride the loss that badly.
“It’s a loss, it’s four points, but we need to bounce back and get on to the Crows next week.”
