The mighty Tiger Army shapes as a September weapon for Richmond, according to coach Damien Hardwick.
With a Club record 73,515 members this season, the No. 1 ranking for total home-and-away attendances, plus the prospect of at least two MCG finals, the Tigers’ roar will be loud and proud in coming weeks.
“Our fans have been terrific all year,” Hardwick said.
“I’ve been privileged to be at some wonderful clubs, but when I hear that song after the (final) siren goes . . . you actually feel it when you’re on the ground. It’s pretty special.
“They’ll show up in force, they always do . . .
“When we’re kicking to the Punt Road end (of the MCG) late, and you need them, they certainly give us a bit of a wriggle on.
“So they’re going to be important for us, no doubt.”
