Star Richmond full-forward Jack Riewoldt has been ruled out of Saturday night’s Round 19 clash with Gold Coast at Metricon Stadium because of an eye injury.

Riewoldt received a knock at training this week that caused a cut to the cornea in his right eye.

Subsequently, there has been some bleeding at the back of the eye.

It will be the first match Riewoldt has missed since the final home-and-away round of the 2013 season against Essendon at the MCG. He had played 86 games in-a-row since then.

The Tigers have made two other changes for the Gold Coast encounter, with mature-age midfield recruit Dion Prestia out due to knee soreness and young small defender Jayden Short omitted.
