With Richmond’s full playing group now back at pre-season training, the Tigers’ Physical Performance Manager Peter Burge provided ‘Roar Vision’ with an update on those players who underwent surgery following the 2017 season . . .
“Daniel Rioli, with his (broken) foot, he’s out of the (moon) boot now and walking around in his runners, which is a great sign. He’s doing a rehab program at the moment with some cross-training, weights all that type of stuff.
“Kane Lambert had very minor knee surgery and resumed running about four weeks ago. So he’s going great at the moment and will resume training this week, once he’s back from Tasmania with the young guys.
“Dion Prestia had very minor ankle surgery post-season and has resumed running. He’s been running now for about four weeks, but we’ll progress his program really carefully and have him in with the main group post-Christmas at this stage.
“Jayden Short and Oleg Markov both had shoulder surgeries and are in the ‘rehab’ group at the moment. No contact skills for them at this stage, but they’re doing plenty of conditioning . . . They’ll do some no-contact skills in the next two to three weeks.”
