A large group of Richmond premiership players were posthumously awarded life membership of the Club at a special function held today at the Swinburne Centre, Punt Road Oval.
The Tigers bestowed life membership upon players from their two VFA premiership teams in 1902 and 1905, along with specific members of the Club’s 1920, 1921, 1932, 1934, 1943 and 1980 flag sides.
Proud relatives of the deceased premiership players were in attendance to accept the prestigious life membership honour on their behalf.
Richmond made a constitutional change last year, granting life membership to every senior premiership team member (VFA, VFL and AFL), regardless of length of tenure at Tigerland.
