Richmond full-back Alex Rance has been rewarded for his superb performance on glamour GWS spearhead Jeremy Cameron, at Skoda Stadium last Sunday, with the game-high votes in the AFL Coaches Association’s Player of the Year award for Round 22.

Rance’s effort in keeping Cameron goalless for the first time this season, and picking up 21 disposals himself, including six intercept possessions, along with seven marks, earned him nine votes from respective coaches Damien Hardwick and Kevin Sheedy.

Dynamic, young Tiger midfielder Dustin Martin received eight votes for a top-class display that netted him 33 disposals, including five inside-50 entries, and eight marks.

Medium forward Aaron Edwards, had a major impact in his return to the Richmond side, with five goals, picked up six votes.
