Key Richmond midfielder Dion Prestia is confident he can have a greater impact in his second season with the Tigers this year.
Prestia finished the 2017 season strongly after a mixed start to football life at his new club and was a pivotal factor in Richmond’s triumphant September campaign.
The former Gold Coast vice-captain averaged 26.6 disposals, 5.0 clearances, 4.6 inside-50s and 5.0 tackles per game throughout the finals, generating plenty of drive for the Tigers through the midfield.
He believes he can hit the ground running from the outset in season 2018.
“I’ve actually done a pre-season,” Prestia said on SEN.
“Coming into the Club last season, I was a bit underdone with everything I came off.
“This year has been totally different to the pre-seasons I have done over the past few years.
“That puts me a long way ahead from what I have done over the past few seasons.
“I probably struggled a bit coming into last year, learning how everyone plays, the way we play, and everyone’s running patterns.
“I was fit enough, but I just couldn’t get my head around where to run, and what my midfielders and rucks were doing.
“That 12 months will really help me a lot.”
